The Supreme Secretary of Education holds a vital place within the Most Worshipful George Mathews Supreme Grand Lodge of the International Free and Accepted Modern Masons, Inc. This role ensures that Masonic knowledge, traditions, and principles are preserved, taught, and strengthened across the fraternity. Education is the foundation of Freemasonry—it equips men not only to master ritual and governance, but also to grow as leaders in their families, professions, and communities.
Dr. LaMont “Montee” Evans, Supreme Secretary of Education, is dedicated to creating resources, training, and study programs that inspire lifelong learning among Masons at every level. His work ensures that officers, Grand Lodges, and local lodges have access to consistent instruction, aligned with the IFAMM Constitution and the mission of IFAMM. By promoting structured Masonic education, he helps members deepen their understanding of the Craft while applying its values of Faith, Hope, and Charity in everyday life.
First and foremost, I want to thank Illustrious John F. Dogan, 33º – Supreme Grand Master/1st Vice President and Illustrious Bobbie J. Meeks, 33º – Supreme President/CEO for the opportunity to serve as the Supreme Secretary of Education – Masons. Education is one of the three critical areas why Brothers join our Order and Freemasonry in general. Many desire for us to open up the secrets, but also to broaden their knowledge and perspective. We can do this and I am committed to making 2025/2026 a better Year of Education which aligns with our 2025/2026 Supreme Grand Lodge theme.
There was so much shared during our 75th Supreme Convention in Duluth, Georgia – you missed a treat if you were not there. I want to get our National District Secretaries of Education in place to serve as leads for our Grand Lodges. I have released the 2025/2026 Supreme Grand Lodge Workbook Pages for use by all Grand Lodges between now and our 76th Supreme Convention in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Below you will find seven (7) Study Sheets that, once downloaded and answers found, you will be prepared to take the Masonic Leadership Test. I encourage you to use your IFAMM 2017 Revised Masonic Ritual, King James Version Bible, IFAMM Supreme Leadership Workbook alongside some Brothers who can help you in those areas where you may need help.
The Masonic Leadership Test Study Sheets have been laid out to assist Brothers understand the various components of the Leadership Test and the information needing to be taught or learned to pass the test. Once you have downloaded and studied these key areas of the test, you will be ready to take the test. It is an open book test and timed (80 minutes) so that brothers are given ample opportunity to tap into their inner genius. I believe all we have to do is call forth the best within every Brother and he will certainly bring his best forward.
While 99 questions may seem like a lot, once you really start looking at them, you’ll bring to the front of your mind all the things the Worshipful Master, Senior Warden and Junior Warden taught you in your early days as an EA, FC or MM. I encourage you to form a study group and take one section at a time. We’re making good men better by providing the tools and resources to improve ourselves in Masonry.

Only Workbooks for Grand Lodges and King Solomon’s Council are to be submitted for review. All submissions must be accompanied by payment.
Workbooks should be submitted 60 days before the scheduled Workshop. The total cost for workbook review and approval is $30.00 and must be paid in full before the review process begins.

The Masonic Leadership Exam is available online for all eligible members. To begin, click the link below. The cost to take the exam is $15.00, which must be paid before you can access the test.
